For some leaders this might be a bit more of a challenging question than it might first seem. Making changes in your career can be very scary, the risk, stretch and changes versus the comfort of current.
It's something I've faced a number of times and here's the thing I've learnt - every time time I gave it it a go and threw myself in to a new challenge I came out the other side stronger and better for it.
Here's some thoughts on how to go about it...
1. Set goals – you get what you focus on. Focus on your career goals, ambitions or aspirations. Build a plan.
2. Know your strengths and what you love doing - the combination of strengths, passion, focus and tenacity is a powerful combination!
3. Take Risks – life begins on the edge of your comfort zone were the real learning and development takes place. Be brave, confident and believe in yourself.
4. Surround yourself with people that believe in you and support you on your way, don't get held back achieving your goals.
